Variety Vanguard Award

The Variety Vanguard Award recognises television industry leaders who have made a significant contribution to the global business of entertainment and is presented in partnership with MIPCOM CANNES each October in the Palais des Festivals. 

This year we are delighted to be recognising the achievements of Marco Bassetti, CEO of content powerhouse, Banijay Entertainment, the world’s largest independent production and distribution group, and of burgeoning live events business, Banijay Live. With an extensive premium catalogue that includes Survivor, Big Brother, Peaky Blinders, MasterChef, Rogue Heroes, Mr Bean, The Summit, Hunted, Black Mirror, Deal or No Deal, and Good Luck Guys, the combined operations operate across 23 territories globally with a diverse, multi-genre portfolio of 130+ production entities and a live events operation responsible for 1 656 live events and experiences last year. 

Presented as part of a keynote interview with Bassetti, it will be preceded by an afternoon of sessions with leading industry players, the 'C-Suite Conversations’, hosted by Variety’s Co-Editor in Chief Cynthia Littleton on Monday 13th October in the Grand Auditorium.
