BBC Studios Recognised as the Inaugural Studio of Distinction at MIPCOM CANNES

Created by RX France to mark a landmark achievement by a global studio or platform, the first Studio of Distinction Award will be presented to BBC Studios in the week that the BBC reaches the milestone of 100 years of public service broadcasting in the UK and 90 years internationally. The honour will be given further context through keynote addresses from senior executives at both MIPJUNIOR and MIPCOM CANNES.

An aristocratic Englishwoman, Lady Cornelia Locke (Emily Blunt) and Eli Whipp (Chaske Spencer) come together in 1890 mid-America to cross a violent landscape built on dreams and blood.

ELPIS - Asian World Premiere Screening

Presented by KANSAI TV.

Inspired by multiple true cases of false accusations, Elpis (written by Aya Watanabe and directed by Hitoshi One) follows Ena Asakawa (Masami Nagasawa), a former network anchor whose star has faded due to scandal and now helms a late-night, less-formal magazine show. There an under-rated and rookie director Takuro Kishimoto (Gordon Maeda) begins to doubt a death row conviction which, together with Asakawa, make-up artist Cherry (Toko Miura) and star reporter Shouichi Saito (Ryohei Suzuki), they investigate and unravel as a state-wide conspiracy and cover up.  

Open to all MIPCOM registered delegates on Tuesday 18 October.
Screening in Grand Auditorium at 6:30pm CET, followed by Q&A with cast member Toko Miura alongside award-winning producer Ayumi Sano.
