BBC Studios Recognised as the Inaugural Studio of Distinction at MIPCOM CANNES

Created by RX France to mark a landmark achievement by a global studio or platform, the first Studio of Distinction Award will be presented to BBC Studios in the week that the BBC reaches the milestone of 100 years of public service broadcasting in the UK and 90 years internationally. The honour will be given further context through keynote addresses from senior executives at both MIPJUNIOR and MIPCOM CANNES.

AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS

Adapted by Ashley Pharoah (Life on MarsAshes to Ashes) and Caleb Ranson (Child of MineHeartless), the series tells the story of the race around the world of an English gentleman, Phileas Fogg, who bets to do so in 80 days. Joined by his valet, Jean Passepartout, and a journalist, Abigail Fix, he will live incredible adventures during an extraordinary journey occurring in the 19th century. 

Presented by Slim Film + Television and Federation. Open to all MIPCOM registered delegates. Sunday 10 October, Grand Auditorium.

STAR TREK: PRODIGY

Nickelodeon and CBS studios’ Eye Animation Productions

Developed by Emmy® Award winners Kevin and Dan Hageman (“Trollhunters” and “Ninjago”), the CG-animated series STAR TREK: PRODIGY is the first “Star Trek” series aimed at younger audiences, and will follow a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search of a better future. 


STAR TREK: PRODIGY is from CBS’ Eye Animation Productions, CBS Studios’ new animation arm; distributed by ViacomCBS Global Distribution Group.Tuesday 12 October from 15.15 to 16.15, Grand Auditorium, Palais des festivals.
