Series creator and writer/director Van Ling and executive producer Casey Cannon discuss this new and original historical fiction drama set in the capital city of the Ottoman Empire in the early 1800s, where international trade and diplomatic relations with Western powers (including the British Empire, France, Spain, Russia and the newly-independent United States of America) has brought new, progressive and subversive ideas which conflict with centuries of Turkish tradition and culture.
With a concept reel, a full pilot script and a detailed show bible (plus a full Season 1 outline in development), Aegean Entertainment is seeking financing and distribution partnerships for this exciting blend of military action, political maneuvering, palace conspiracies, immigrant policy challenges and international intrigue, loosely-inspired by real historical events and situations, yet surprisingly relevant to our modern political climate.
